| Abstract/Contents: | "Several fungicides were evaluted for curative control of red thread on a perennial ryegrass turf area at the ChemLawn Research Center in Delaware, OH. The turf received medium fertility (2.5 lbs N per year), was amintained at 1.75 in mowing height, and received irrigation as needed. Treatments were replicated four times in 4 ft x 10 ft plots in a randomized complete block design. Fungicides were applied in 4.0 gal of water/1000 sq ft using a CO2 powered backpack test plot sprayer with an 8020 Tee Jet nozzle. Fungicides were applied as follows: a) single treatments made 20 Jun; b) double treatments made 20 Jun and 3 Jul; c) triple treatments mad e 20 Jun, 3 and 17 Jul. Disease ratings were made on 3, 15 and 21 Jul. Most fungicides by the third rating had provided disease control when compared to the untreated check. Three applications of either Bayleton of Daconil 2787 provided the best control throughout the rating period." |
