Abstract/Contents: | "Fungicides were applied curatively to a bentgrass tee in Easton, MD. Soil was a sandy loam with a pH of 6.8 and O.M. 2.0%. Fungicides were applied 6 Jun, 1985 with a CO2 pressurized sprayer at 36 psi and 2.5 gal/1000 sq ft. Plots were 5 ft x 10 ft and were arranged in a completely randomized design with three replications. Percent plot area damaged by dollar spot was visually estimated on a 0 - 100% scale. Treatments with dollar spot percentages above 0.5% were considered unacceptable. Take-all severity was visually determined on a 0 - 5 scale where 0 = no disease, 3 = unacceptable suppression, and 5 = all plants dead in affected patches. Plots were evaluated 15 days after treatment on 21 Jun. All fungicide treatments, except LESCO 63539 (chlorthalonil + sulfur), had provided an acceptable level of dolllar spot control. Only Daconil 2787 6.4 oz + BAY HWG 05191 1.6 oz and PMA reduced take-all severity significantly, when compared to untreated turf." |
