| Abstract/Contents: | Announces that "the Ecological Health Organization, Inc. and the Grassroots Coalition, both of Connecticut have started a petition to ban the use of lawn care pesticides in Connecticut [in 2004]." Notes that "several municipalities in Canada...have bylaws restricting or banning the use of pesticides on public and private properties." Explains that "many anti-pesticide groups wish to discontinue the use of pesticides on residential properties. They are using the precautionary principle in an attempt to establish their position that...federal and state laws and regulations are inadequate." Discusses possible considerations made when deciding whether or not to apply pesticides, pesticides used, professional landscape training, and pesticide legislation. |
