Abstract/Contents: | Profiles bentgrass, mentioning that "bentgrass is used quite widely on golf courses in Ohio. It is used for greens mainly and to a lesser degree on fairways and tees." Describes two bentgrass varieties used in Ohio, including creeping bentgrass and colonial bentgrass. Suggests that "one of the best ways to measure the vigor of a variety is to evaluate its ability to resist Poa annua encroachment." Provides the Poa annua precentage present in several bentgrass varieties, including Evansville, Toronto, Cohansey, Congressional, and Penncross. |
