Abstract/Contents:Reports results of six cultivars of Zoysiagrass evaluated (visual 1-9 scale) at Texas A&M University in 1985. Emerald, Meyer. and Fl 13521 were established in 1979. El Toro was planted in 1983 and Korean Common and Belair were planted in 1984. Visual rating were taken twice a month in June, July, August, and September and averaged over the season. Emerald and FC 13521 performed best. In 1984, Meyer and Emerald had the highest seasonal average for quality (1), while in 1983, Emerald and FC 13521 had the highest seasonal average for quality (2). The important point to remember is that all zoysiagrass cultivars produced an acceptable turf and differences in quality between them were small and frequently not significant.
