Abstract/Contents: | Reports results of studies initiated to confirm the reported susceptibility of centipedegrass to St Augustine decline virus in Texas. Typical mottling of 'Common' centipedegrass cultivar developed 14 to 28 days after mechanical inoculation with both S and W isolates of PMV-SAD. Mottling was less intense and symptoms spread more slowly in centipedegrass than in St. Augustinegrass. The virus could then be transmitted back and forth between 'Common' centipedegrass and Texas 'Common' St. Augustinegrass. |
