| Abstract/Contents: | Presents a study conducted "1. to ascertain the influence of Aqua-Gro and Rubigan on Poa annua infloresence development in a Penncross creeping bentgrass sward grown under different fertilization"; "2. to ascertain the influence of Aqua-Gro and Rubigan differently fertilized on Penncross creeping bentgrass turf quality, disease infestation, and leaf temperature"; and "3. to determine the effect of Aqua-Gro on soil physical properties." Details methods and materials used in the study, stating that "five regimes of Aqua-Gro were applied to a mature Penncross creeping bentgrass turf." Reports that "plots treated with the fall plus spring (high rates) Aqua-Gro regime and the spring regime tended to have fewer seedheads than the control plots. In June these differences were significant. The fall plus spring (low rate) regime, as well as the fall regime, did not differ significantly from the control...Less seedheads were observed in plots fertilized with iron than those with no iron, however, the difference was only significant in early May." |
