| Abstract/Contents: | Presents a study conducted to "ascertain cold tolerance of various bermudagrass selections." Details methods and materials used in the study, stating that "thirty-one bermudagrass (Cynodon L.C. Rich) selections were established on a Lodi silt loam soil...Twenty-eight of these selections were components of the National Bermudagrass Evaluation Study." Reports that "thirty days after the bermudagrasses were placed in a greenhouse, all previously frozen selections had less foliar and root development than the non-frozen selections...The results indicated that all seeltions survived the cold January temperatures after a June planting in Virginia at an elevation of 640 meters." |
