| Abstract/Contents: | Presents a study conducted "to determine if light frequent applications of DSMA were as efficacious as heavy infrequent DSMA or Dacthal preemergence applications." Details methods and materials used in the study, stating that "a mature Penncross creeping bentgrass grown on a Lodi silt loam and managed as golf putting green was used to conduct this experiment...Turfgrass color, crabgrass infestation, chemical phytotoxicity, and disease infestation were rated periodically from July to November [1986]." Reports that "crabgrass was controlled with all herbicide treatments...Both DSMA regimes provided better control than Dacthal when rated in the fall...All herbicides provided significantly better turfgrass quality than the control from July through October." Also reports that "all herbicides used in this study appeared to have reduced infestation of Dollarspot disease." |
