| Abstract/Contents: | Presents a study conducted "1) to evaluate the ethofumesate to control annual bluegrass in established bluegrass turf" and "2) to determine the effect of this herbicide on turf quality and thinning." Reports that "turf quality was acceptible [acceptable] only when the total amount of ethofumesate was less than 2.25 lbs. [pounds] a.i. [active ingredient]/A [acre] (from a single or multiple application)...acceptable control of Annual bluegrass was seen with ethofumesate plus bensulide...and ethofumesate treatments where sequential treatments were made, more than .75 lbs was appplied as later applications and, the total ethofumesate rate was 3.0 lbs. a.i./A or more...Turf quality was acceptable in all tested treatments. Very little turf percent brown (turf thinning) was seen by this time in any treatment." |
