Abstract/Contents:States that "in May of 2007, Pro-Lines Athletic Fields was chosen to construct a new baseball field for the Naval Academy Preparatory School (NAPS) located at the Newport [Rhode Island] Naval Base." Highlights preparations at the field for a visit from former President George W. Bush, stating that "after installation and leveling of the infield stone dust, Base Commander William Mallory made an official announcement that President Bush would visit the base to give a speech at the Naval War College...He then added a key detail: President Bush would be arriving via Marine One and landing on the...baseball field." Describes the rehearsal of the landing, stating that "staff removed every stake, flag, sign and other lightweight items from the field. The...stone dust infield was watered with a standard outdoor faucet on a building nearby." Concludes that "this event illustrated to base officials the need for ample irrigation capabilities to both sustain the cool-seaons grass over the long term and more easily maintain skinned areas."
