Abstract/Contents:States that "the increase of plant phenolic compounds in symbiotic grasses has been suspected of acting synergistically with ergot alkaloids to deter predation by plant-parasitic nematodes." Reports that "methanol (100%) performed the best for phenolic and flavonoids extraction. E+ [with endophyte] plants presented higher total phenolic content in P. ampla...and higher total flavonoid content in F. arundinacea...L. perenne...and F. rubra ssp. commutata."
