| Abstract/Contents: | Presents a study conducted to "determine product effectivness when applied in mid-[July] to control a predominant population of northern masked chafer (NMC) and Japanese beetle (JB) white grubs on a turfgrass area." Details methods and materials used in the study, stating that "the turfgrass area consisted of Kentucky bluegrass (10%) and fine fescue (90%)." Lists treatments evaluated in the study, including Acelepryn and Merit. Reports that "all treatments provided significant suppression of NMC grubs. An insufficient JB grub population was present; hence, no treatments provided significant reduction because of an extremely low population of only 0.7 JB grubs/ft2 [square feet] in untreated checks. No phytotoxicity was noted." |
