| Abstract/Contents: | Presents a study conducted to determine the efficacy of insecticides for "control of Southern Masked Chafer (SMC) on a Kentucky bluegrass rough." Details methods and materials used in the study, stating that "the turf (100% Kentucky bluegrass) was maintained at a ht [height] of 2.5 inches. Thatch accumulation (finger compressed) in the plot area was 0.125 inch." Lists treatments evaluated in the study, including Merit 240SC and Imidacloprid G. Reports that "all treatments provided statistically significant reductions in SMC grubs when compared to the untreated check. Except for imidacloprid G 0.5% (60 lb [pounds] product/A [acre]), all treatments provided excellent (>85%) white grub control. No phytotoxiticy was observed." |
