| Abstract/Contents: | Presents a study conducted to study ant mounding on golf course fairways. Details methods and materials used in the study, stating that "an irrigated bentgrass section...was divided into 9 ft [feet] by 9 ft treatment plots with a 3 ft buffer between plots. Each treatment plot was replicated six times." Lists treatments evaluated in the study, including A11859J 0.22 G, A15008B. 24 G, Bayer AD 0.2 G, Ortho Bug B Gone, Max 0.115 G, Triazicide 0.1 G, and A14556D 0.04 G. Reports that "all of the compounds tested except Triazide gave significant ant mounding reduction 7 DAT [days after treatment]...the A15008B formulation of thiamethoxam/lambda cyhalothrin gave the highest amount of ant mound reduction through the 35-day sample, but the longest period of 50% or greater reduction of mounding was in plots treated with thaimethoxam by itself. Triazicide was not significantly effective in reducing ant mounding at any time during the test." |
