| Abstract/Contents: | Experiments at the National Grassland Research Institute of 1980-83 investigated variations in seed yield and yield components, correlations between them and the year-to-year variations of seed yield and yiled components in nine Japanese Italian ryegrass cultivars (Lolium multiflorum Lam.). The results indicate that, in nine Japanese cultivars of Italian ryegrass, there are large differences in seed yield and yield components and that seed yield per ear is the most important component of yield, and they suggest that higher seed yield materials can be produced by selection for this factor. |
