| Abstract/Contents: | "A new in vitro method for evaluating fungicides for control of Helminthosporium sorokinianum on Kentucky bluegrass is described. Excised blades were surface sterlized, inoculated with a conidial suspension of H. sorokinianum, and sprayed with the respective fungicide. The blade was placed in a sterile test tube containing 1 cc of sterile water and incubated at 26 ± 1°C for 4 days. Effective control was obtained with 2,4-dichloro-6-(o-chloroanilino)-s-triazine and an experimental fungicide, zinc ion and manganous ethylenbis[dithiocarbamate]." |
