Abstract/Contents: | Briefly discusses the use of synthetic netting for the establishment of turf seedlings to improve handling qualities of the young turf for sodding. A low maintenance seed mixture (A22 Low Maintenance) of 60% Lorina perennial ryegrass, 35% Logro slender creeping red fescue, and 5% Highland browntop bent has shown less need for mowing, less aggressive top growth, strong color, compact and fine-leaved appearance, and an excellent root system. The turf was harvested only 18 weeks after sowing the seed. |
