Abstract/Contents:Discusses the 2009 golf season, in the midwestern United States. States that Tony Kalina, president of the Midwest Association of Golf Course Superintendents (MAGCS) in 2009 "believes [the] industry and game will continue to grow and provide the livelihood, recreation, and vitality that [one expects in ones life.]" Notes that he is "very proud of the [2009] board and their devotion to serving the needs of [the] members." Notes that he developed a tool for board use. Explains that it "is an on-line, live, information manager which provides 24/7 unlimited access to ...internal documents, calander, meeting checklist, and agenda." Mentions the Partnership Task Group, stating that "the purpose of the Partnership Task Group is to explore ways in wich [the] Class E members can maximize the return on their sponsorship investments, improve their sense of ownership at sponsored events, add value to to our association's 'touch' opportunites, and encourage Class A member participation." Lists events put on by the MAGCS in 2009 including, "the traditional four-person, Spring Scramble at Prairie Landing in West Chicago" in April; "the ITF Spring Golf Day will be conducted at the Merit Club in Libertyville" in May; "test Matt Kregel's Club at Strawberry Creek" in June; "the annual MAGCS Family Picnic at the Kane County Cougar Baseball Game" in July; "two-day iTruf EXXPO research field and commercial exposition" in August; and "visit the Kemper Lakes Golf Club" in September.
