Abstract/Contents:Profiles Castle Stuart Golf Links, opening in the summer of 2009. States that "Castle Stuart is the brainchild of Mark Parsinen, an American developer and architect most notably associated with the birth of Kingsbarns." Reports that "Stuart McColom, the Links Manager at Kingsbarn, was brought to Castle Stuart to project manage the development." Notes that construction began in the spring of 2007 and that "the greens at Castle Stuart are relatively small with much of the movement built into the edges and margins." Suggests that "it is the bunkers for which Castle Stuart will be remembered." States that "the playing surfaces have been constructed from pure sand and the decision not to incorporate organic matter into profiles was only taken at the last minute to prevent destruction of the classic landforms built into the sand."
