| Abstract/Contents: | "Investigation of soil and plants samples from many years fertilizing experiments on meadows grown on various mineral soils and after-bog soils was carried out. Content of sulphur in investigated crops ranged from 0.12% to 0.7% and depended on sulphur concentration in soil, period of vegetation, and plant species. Fertilization with MgSO4 of soil poor in sulphates did not affect on distinct increase of sulphur content in crops, nevertheless, evidently enriched soil in sulphates. In soil poor in sulphates, tussock grass and meadow grass showed higher sulphur uptake ability than timothy. Plants from Warsaw lawns contained unusually more then 0.4% S, ie amount harmful to animals." |
