| Abstract/Contents: | Suggests that that that the game of golf has been affected by the economic recession. Offers "ideas from a design perspective that can [potentially] help accomplish more with less." Suggests that "it is absolutely necessary to develop a comprehensive Master Plan that addresses both the physical and operational aspects of the facility." Also recommends potential cost saving practices with regards to "drainage and circulation"; "irrigation"; "fairways"; "tees"; "bunkers"; "vegetation"; and "naturalized areas." Concludes that in reducing maintenance costs, it is important not to "sacrifice the integrity of [the] course or the enjoyment of the revenue generating golfer." |
