Abstract/Contents:Discusses the potential savings and benefits associated with a Turfgrass Assessment Plan (TAP). Explains that most TAPs include three primary components "an evaluation of areas that potentially can be removed from managed turf, but with careful planning for playability, pace of play, and irrigation integration"; "landscape solutions for treating areas after removal of turf"; and "cost analysis." States that "the investment for TAP is generally a fraction of the cost of a full master plan." Suggests that "some associated benefits [are] improved visual definition of holes"; "better tree health"; "environmental stewardship"; "better aesthetics"; and "enhanced strategy."
