Abstract/Contents:Reports on a two-year study conducted "to evaluate the effects of two relatively low nitrogen fertilization rates (2.7 and 3.8 pounds/1,000 square feet [13.2 and 18.6 grams/square meter, respectively]) applied as 100% granular fertilizer, 50% granular + 50% foliar fertilizer, or 100% foliar fertilizer, on turf quality, rooting and growth of L-93 creeping bentgrass on a putting green." States that the results "suggest a rate of at least 3.8 pounds nitrogen/1,000 square feet provided higher creeping bentgrass quality in the transition zone of the U.S. [United States]. Combining both liquid and granular fertilizer application methods appears to provide better results than relying exclusively on one method."
