Abstract/Contents:Presents two studies conducted to gauge the effect of bromacil on cotula turfgrass establishment. States that one study aimed to find the "effect of rates of bromacil on recently planted Cotula groovings," whereas the other sought the "length of the residual effects of bromacil." Details the materials and procedures of each study, stating that for the first, "the treatments were four rates of bromacil at: I) 2 pints per green; II) 1.5 pints per green; III) 1.0 pints per green; and IV) 0.5 pints per green." Reports that during the second study, "cotula was planted at regular intervals in Bainesse sand that had been sprayed at the rates of 0.5, 1.0, 1.5, and 2.0 pints of bromacil per green." Concludes that the first study found that "it was not until the plants were four months old that no damage from spraying with bromacil was caused to the cotula," and that in the second study "one week after spraying the sand and soil with bromacil, 10 cotula plants per treatment were planted. Within four weeks all these cotula plants had died."
