Abstract/Contents: | Presents a study conducted to determine the relationship of color with light absorption, suggesting that "high temperatures could lead to over-heating under rubber mats that are black in clolour [color]." Details the materials used during the study, stating that with white paint the researcher "painted two of [four black rubber mats] on one side only, one on both sides and the fourth was left black on both sides." Presents a table suggesting that the coolest temperature after one hour was held by the mat that was painted white only on its top surface. Concludes that "while it could be sufficient to paint one side only, it would be much wiser to treat both sides, as players are liable to leave the wrong side up." |
