Abstract/Contents:Discusses the manurial requirements of bowling greens, suggesting that "the creation and maintenance of correct levels of fertility is...of the utmost importance. In addition to varying degrees of warmth, moisture, light, and air, all plants need certain soil ingredients for normal growth." Focuses on the presence of phosphorus and nitrogen in soil, as well as soil acidity and the spreading of fertilizer. States that "for successful results, fertilisers [fertilizers] must be distributed uniformly over the surface of the green."
