Abstract/Contents:Presents results from a study conducted on the preemergence and postemergence use of ethofumesate to selectively remove Poa annua from cool season turfgrasses such as: creeping bentgrass, Kentucky bluegrass, perennial ryegrass, zoysiagrass, and turf-type tall fescue. Testing has shown that tolerance of turf species to ethofumesate is dependent on: 1) turf species, 2) stage of growth, and 3) chemical rate. Tolerance of established turf (in descending order) are: perennial ryegrass > tall fescue > creeping bentgrass = zoysiagrass = Kentucky bluegrass > chewings/red fescues > annual bluegrass. Seedling tolerance also differs greatly between species.
