| Abstract/Contents: | "Research at Clemson University continues to investigate Rhizoctonia leaf and sheath spot on bermudagrass. Their observations include: Rhizoctonia leaf and sheath spot has increased in frequency and importance on bermudagrass putting greens. Fungi identified as Rhizoctonia zeae have most consistently been associated with symptoms of the disease, although related fungi such as R. oryzae and R. circinata var. circinata may also be involved. Curative control with fungicides or masking of symptoms with fertilizers has been largely ineffective. Early curative control or preventive control with several fungicides with good efficacy against Rhizoctonia diseases has been successful." |
