| Abstract/Contents: | Presents a study conducted at Cornell University concerning plant growth regulators. The PGR tests included Turf Enhancer, Cutless, and Primo. Provides data on divot recovery, vertical leaf extension, visual quality, and thatch amounts from the Penncross creeping bentgrass test plots. Discusses the experimental methods. Conclusions include: PGRs are viable options, excessive top-growth neutralizes PGR regulation, light frequent applications of Primo gave good regulation (35%), increased Primo rates may predispose the plant to low-temperature stress, Cutless regulation was adequate but increased rates lead to increased thatch, and Turf Enhancer provided steady regulation throughout the season. |
