Abstract/Contents: | A three-year test program has been started to measure the nitrogen and nutrient soil levels after repeated grass cuttings with: a) a walk-behind mulching mower, and b) a walk-behind rear-bagging model. Intermediate and deep soil cores will be taken before and after each growing season and analyzed for leaching, nitrogen and other mineral and nutrient activity levels. The study is expected to provide information on the benefits and advantages of using a mulching mower instead of a conventional rear- or side-discharge mower. |
