Abstract
(Thanks to DTRF) | "Agrostis stolonifera is in Nederland de minst gebruikte variëteit van de grassoort Agrostis. Van dit grassoort zijn enkele tientallen variëteiten bekend. In Amerika, wordt Agrostis stolonifera vooral gekweekt en gebruikt op golfbanen en dan specifiek voor de putting greens. Dit grassoort produceert horizontale, ondergronds groeiende wortels, stolonen genaamd. Onder gunstige omstandigheden stellen zij dit grassoort in staat een zeer dichte grasmat te vormen en de competitie te winnen van polvormende grassen en onkruid met brede bladeren. In een gazon kan deze agressieve grassoort met zijn andere bladstructuur voor problemen zorgen. Door het woekergedrag kunnen stolonen boven het maaiveld uitgroeien, terwijl plekken met struisgrassen opvallen" |
