Abstract/Contents: | Discusses microbial fungicides, describing their physical properties and their potential use in the United States. Explains that, although "the use of microbial fungicides is fraught with limitations, primarily due to the fact that we are trying to manipulate a living organism instead of a synthetic chemical...They can provide levels of disease control that, in many cases, facilitate reduced applications of fungicides." Focuses on five commercial biological controls, including QUANTUM-4000®, DAGGER G®, BINAB-T®, and GALLTROL-A®. States that "none of these materials are [is] labelled for turf disease control [as of 1997]." |
