Abstract/Contents:Discusses the relatively thin turf that resulted from the drought of 1991 in the state of New York and the turf's potential inability to compete with crabgrass during the summer. Suggests the use of Tupersan (siduron) during seeding "or at any time thereafter for preemergent control." Mentions Dacthal (DCPA) as an option after turf has been mowed several times. States that "Acclaim (fenoxaprop) can be used on seedling ryegrass or fescue as early as 4 weeks after emergence...[but] MSMA should only be applied to well established turf."
