Abstract/Contents: | "Improving varieties of our important turfgrasses have been appearing rapidly in recent years. Since each new variety has characteristics of its own it is desireable to test these new varieties in mixtures or blends. Two- and three-way mixtures of varying percentages of improved Kentucky bluegrass, Chewings fescue and perennial ryegrass were seeded in October, 1975 and duplicated in June, 1976 to observe rate of establishment, competitiveness, among species and quality of turf developed. Superimposed on the flats are two different maintenance fertility levels - 2 and 3 lbs. N/1000 annually. Species counts have been taken twice since establishment." |
