Abstract/Contents: | "Since 1966, Merion Kentucky bluegrass plots, 18 x 32 ft. have received various combinations of N. P and K ranging from N alone to a complete fertilizer. In 1970, each plot was divided into three rates of the various fertilizer ratios; one below normal (2.5-1-1 lbs/1000 ft2), one above normal (10-4-4) and one at a usual fertilizer rate (5-2-2). At selected times throughout the year, CO2 fixation and metabolism are measured using an infrared gas analyzer and radiocarbon techniques. Soil and tissue analyses are conducted each year to monitor changes in nutrient status of soil and turf. Turf is scored periodically for general quality, disease incidence and weed invasion." |
