Abstract/Contents: | "Eight herbicides were applied to the soil surface of plots prepared suitable as a seedbed. Four weeks later these plots were seeded with a mixture of bluegrass and fescue. Prior to seeding some plots received an application of activated charcoal. Tentative results indicate that safe seedings were made in soil treated four weeks earlier with BAS - 3516 or Typersan. Seedings were not successful in soils treated with A-820, Azak, Betasan, Dacthal, Emblem or Ronstar. However, adding activated charcoal before seeding nullified the harmful effects of these herbicides resulting in safe seedings." |
