| Abstract/Contents: | "Velvet bentgrass is not a new grass but because of the unavailability of pure seed it has not been widely used. Years of research at this stations have clearly indicated that the management requirements for this grass are unlike those for other putting green grasses. With the recent release of the "Kingstown" variety of velvet bentgrass, and the ready availability of certified seed, it seemed appropriate to establish a study to further document the management requirements. This study includes variables of fertilization and soil topdressing treatments. The soil pH is maintained close to 5.5. Treatments were initiated in April 1969." |
