Abstract/Contents:"The study was conducted at the Valentine Turfgrass Research Center, University Park, PA, on a mixed stand of creeping bentgrass and annual bluegrass. The site was maintained as a golf course green, mowed six times per week at 0.125-in. cutting height. The soil was a modified sandy clay loam with a pH of 7.0. The experiment was not fertilized prior to or during the course of the experiment. Fungicides were applied with a CO2-powered sprayer, using a TeeJet 11008E nozzle at 40 psi, in water equivalent to 2 gal per 1000 sq ft. Treatment applications were made on 7-day (24 and 31 May, 7, 14, 21, and 28 Jun, and 5 Jul) and 14-day intervals (24 May, 7 and 21 Jun, and 5 Jul). Treatment plots, 3 ft Π6 ft, were arranged in a randomized complete block design with three replications of treatments. Additionally, the experimental turf area was treated with Scimitar (7.5 fl oz/A) on 8 May for cutworm. Disease incidence was assessed on 3 and 10 Jul. Data were subjected to analysis of variance and multiple comparisons of the mean values were made using the Waller-Duncan k-ratio test (k=100). Development of dollar spot in this study was moderate and it appeared early in the summer. Daconil Ultrex (3.25 oz), Insignia (0.5 oz) tank-mixed with Trinity (1 fl oz), Insignia (0.9 oz), and Insignia (0.5 oz) tank-mixed with Ecoguard (20 fl oz), SARS-346 (0.5 or 0.75 oz), SARS (0.4 oz) tank-mixed with 3336 (1.4 or 2 oz), Emerald (0.2 oz), and Banner Maxx (1 fl oz) were highly effective against dollar spot. Additionally, Trinity (1 fl oz), 3336 Plus (4 fl oz), Lynx alone at various rates and tank-mixed with Chipco Signature (4 oz) provide good control. There were no significant differences in dollar spot incidence among the plots treated with Lynx at various rates, Lynx tank-mixed with Chipco Signature (4 oz), Lynx tank-mixed with Chipco Signature (4 oz) alternated with mixture of Chipco Signature (4 oz) and Daconil Ultrex (3.2 oz) every 14 days. No phytotoxicity in any of the treatment plots was observed in the study."
