Abstract/Contents: | "Plant parasitic nematodes are becoming a significant problem for cool-season turfgrass managers throughout Europe, with nematode damage symptoms now common in a wide range of turf types. A greater usage of sand-based constructions, climate change and reduction in pesticide usage may all be contributing to increasing levels of damage across many sports (Fleming et al., 2008). Within Europe, surprisingly little is known about the range of nematodes attacking turfgrass species and the population densities likely to cause problems. The objective of this research was to determine the main types of nematode attacking common turfgrass species and to establish the nematode population densities associated with nematode induced turf damage." |
