| Abstract/Contents: | "Superabsorbers got more popular in horticulture and agriculture during the last years to avoid water stress, to reduce additional watering and prolong intervals between irrigation. Turfgrass on sandy rootzone mixtures like football pitches or golf greens often suffer from water stress due to the low water holding capacity, much like natural sandy soils. Chemical superabsobers promise an increase of plant available water to avoid stress of the plants (Gordon, 1994)." |
