Abstract/Contents: | Reviews the rationale for late fall nitrogen fertilization. While it provides improved rooting, fall turf color and turf density, it also is a concern for increased thatch and potential for more late fall growth if warm weather prevails, and potential for leaching of nitrates. Recommendations for application to golf courses, athletic fields, and lawns are given. |
