Abstract/Contents:Briefly presents a study to "breed new varieties [of poa pratensis] by using local native germplasm." Includes the materials and methods employed during the study, stating that Daqingshan was used as an experimental variety along with 47 other adapted turfgrass varieties from Europe and America. Reports that "compared with the original group, Daqingshan showed bright colour [color], leaf weight, and seed yield." Concludes that "Daqingshan showed more resistance and leaf weight...[and] it is the only cool-season turfgrass variety bred successfully from domestic wild germplasm."
