Abstract/Contents:Briefly presents a study in which "sequence-related, amplified polymorphism molecular [SRAP] markers were used to detect the genetic diversity of thirty-two wild accession of Cynodon dactylon." Mentions the materials and methods used during the study, stating that "total DNA [Deoxyribonucleic Acid] was extracted from approximately 0.5g (grams) of leaf tissue using a modified CTAB [Cetyl trimethylammonium bromide] method." Reports that "there was rich genetic diversity among the wild resources...tested." Concludes that SRAP is a potentially effective method of determining genetic diversity and that "fully sampling the genetic diversity of Cynodon in China will require a more comprehensive collection throughout its distribution."
