Abstract/Contents:Briefly presents a study in which "the SRAP-PCR [sequence-related amplified polymorphism-polymerase chain reaction] system was set up and applied to the polymorphic primer combinations selection and centipedegrass hybrids identification." Discusses the materials and methods used during the study, indicating that "the orthogonal design was used to optimize the SRAP-PCR system with four factors at three levels." Reports that "each factor has different effects on the result of PCR...the concentration of MG2+ [Magnesium Ion] had the greatest effect and Taq DNA [Deoxyribonucleic Acid] polymorphism had the least effect on the result." Concludes that "these polymorphic primer combinations and real F1 hybrids tested in this study could be applied to construct the molecular genetic linkage map and identify QTL (quantitative trait loci) which could be used in marker-assisted selection to improve economically important traits of centipedegrass."
