| Abstract/Contents: | "Pest damage to temporary grassland in lowland England is widespread. It can be controlled by pesticide treatment, but the use of chemicals is restricted by the short intervals between successive harvests. Twenty-one pesticides, of limited persistence or low mammalian toxicity, were tested in field experiments to assess their effectiveness and suitability for use on established grassland. The synthetic pyrethroid, permethrin, was the most promising of the materials tested." |
