Abstract/Contents:Announces the continuance of several management studies of six bermudagrass varieties that "have been grown under saline conditions since 1963." Notes that "the grasses were flood-irrigated with water which, in 1965, had an average total soluble salt content of 3300 parts per million and an undesirable sodium content." Details verticutting practices on each variety, mentioning that "considerable differences were noted in the amount of thatch removed." Highlights the tendency of the grasses toward dormancy, suggesting that "temperatures in the root zone prior to [March 18, 1965, when the varieties were verticutted]...are of prime importance in influencing the end of dormancy." Provides three tables detailing the mowing heights of the six bermudagrass varieties; the relation of those mowing heights to earliness of greening; and the soil and air temperatures measured throughout the study.
