Abstract/Contents: | Briefly details two breeding programs at the Southern Plains Range Research Station in Woodward, Oklahoma during 1988. States that eastern gamagrass hybrids "had a wide range of female fertility...when pollinated." Provides background information on WW-Iron Master, a cultivar of Andropogon gerardii, and explains that it "has persisted well with good spring vigor [at multiple research sites]." Adds that "WW-Iron Master is very iron efficient and produces more forage with less chlorosis than presently released cultivars of [Andropogon gerardii] when grown on iron deficient soils." |
