Details the materials and methods used in the study, stating that "the present ryegrass germplasm program involves selection for vigor...and winter hardiness." Reports that "a bulk labeled Tx-R-85-2...has very high yield potential...[and] has much improved winter hardiness." Concludes that "research efforts for aluminum tolerance under acid soil conditions will have an increased emphasis in the future. [Soil] acidity appears to be an increasing problem, particularly in low input agriculture as many forage programs have become." |
