Abstract/Contents: | Reports on research conducted on "[three] species targeted for improvement by the ARS [Agricultural Research Service] native grass breeding project at Logan, [Utah]." Reports that Elymus lanceolatus ssp. wawawai (Snake River wheatgrass) was crossed with other species to potentially improve its regrowth rate; that Oryzopsis hymenoides (Indian ricegrass) research "has been stifled because of inherent seed dormancy"; and that hybrids of Leymus cinereus (basin wildrye) were tested for short seed dormancy stages, for potential use in surface mine reclamation. |
